One cannot be too idealistically hoping for a sane solution to the tensions in this world. The simple and normal reasoning of Putin (shared one would think by Xi, who is far less trustful of Westerners), will be buried and forgotten about, as the Western world only floats on ad hoc events. The word ‘news’ says it all, events must be ‘new’ to be understood. The mass murder from yesterday hardly hits the headlines any longer.
